St. Amant Brings the Heat

On February 26th, we received an incredibly hard working group of guys and gals from the Church in St. Amant. This team of 16, worked day and night in order to replace ALL of the electrical wiring in the Jungle Hospital and get the building ready for the installation of a diesel generator! The team also removed all of the old, water-stained drop ceiling, and replaced it with a Styrofoam product that will not warp in the humidity.

One team member, you may remember from an earlier blog – Kelly Austin, returned to paint murals in our 3 outpatient exam rooms, and a beautiful Noah’s Arc mural in our new patient waiting area!

The team even stopped for an afternoon to minister to some students from the school in the village of Los Planes. These kids walked for 3 hours to spend time with us, and learn about health and hygiene. The team helped us give each student a brand new backpack and a new pair of sandals!

We can’t wait for our patients at the hospital to come next week and see the changes! Things are improving weekly, and we are just so grateful for the sacrifice of teams like this one, from St. Amant, Louisiana. Being partners in Kingdom work is what it is all about, and they definitely have a heart to spread God’s Word.
