Now Introducing Our New Volunteers!

As of October 1, 2022, the Jungle Hospital welcomed four new staff members. Each one of them was called to missions at different times and stages of their lives, and each was compelled to begin that work here at the Jungle Hospital. So, without further adieu, meet our new staff members!

Lisa Field, MSN, FNP:

Lisa came to Honduras on her first medical missions trip in 2012. After a few more short-term trips, Lisa felt the Lord was calling her to full-time medical service in Honduras. She joined The Jungle Hospital in October 2022 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Amanda Metcalf, MSN, FNP:

Amanda first came to Honduras in 2018 for a medical missions trip. Captivated, she returned later that same year, and felt God’s calling to serve long-term in Honduras. Amanda joined The Jungle Hospital in October 2022 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Paige Prestholdt, LPN:

Paige was called to be a medical missionary on Pentecost Sunday 2021. The next year she came to The Jungle Hospital with River Valley Church for a short-term trip. Only a few months later, she returned to serve full-time as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner.

Micah Farr, RN, BSN:

Micah graduated from Lee University in 2021 with a dual degree in Nursing and Intercultural Studies. She also has experience in Adult and Pediatric Trauma. Having visited The Jungle Hospital three times prior, she returned in October 2022 to serve as a Registered Nurse.

So far, all of these ladies have proven their hearts for the people of Honduras and for this ministry. We are so excited to watch them become more comfortable and thrive as time progresses.
