History Field Trip

(copied from the old blog. entry dated: 5/23/2007 6:57:00 PM)

Did you know that Charleston, SC is an old city? It is so full of history and culture, that  the four of us had a great time walking through time. We visited houses that have been beautifully restored. We walked through several blocks and had the most fun peering over peoples’ fences. We visited St. Michael’s Church and had the privilege of walking through its cemetery. We noticed tombstones going back to the 1700’s! One of the guys had even signed the U.S. Constitution! What a wonderful experience… Our hosts, Dr. and Mrs Michael Sabback, showed us their town and their wonderful house just outside of town. We really enjoyed ourselves!!! They even showed us a 1400 year old oak tree, with 17,000 square feet of shade.

Here we are in front of an old customs building, it was so cool!

We will be in the Fayetteville, Tennessee area for about a week. Next week we will travel to Kentucky, Indiana, and Clarksville, TN.  We’ll be in Memphis, TN for a Sunday morning service and Gadsden, Alabama for a Sunday night service.  We are in good health, just a little tired. We are trying to catch up on sleep and regroup. So far we are logging about 1,000 miles per week and just yesterday we traveled through 4 States. So we covet your prayers for safe traveling.  Thank you for keeping us in mind.
